Empty Glass Candle Jars & Vases in Bulk

Glass candle jars and vases are the container the whole candle is designed around — the diameter sets the wick, the height sets the fill weight, and the glass colour decides whether the wax reads as premium or as yellow. POSISION supplies them empty in bulk from our own plant in Henan, China: clear cylinders and vases in the heights our sand wax and container candle lines use, plus amber glass with metal lids for private label work.

What the clear glass range covers

The format in our photography is a straight-sided clear cylinder — six of them, in ascending heights, standing empty on a table. Straight sides are not a style choice; they are the shape that keeps a burn even, because the wax melts to the same distance from the wick at every height. A jar that tapers inwards concentrates heat at the shoulder and tends to tunnel.

The range covers two jobs that look similar and are specified differently:

• Container candle jars. Sized to the wax and wick, sold empty, and chosen so the fill weight on your label matches what the jar actually holds.
• Sand wax vases and holders. Taller and narrower, designed to hold a loose granule fill rather than a poured candle. Our listing describes these as holders for sand wax fills, and they are the vessel behind the refillable vase format.

Because both carry the same glass, they can be quoted on one RFQ and shipped on one order, which matters when a brand sells a poured candle and a granule vase side by side.

Amber glass and metal lids

Colour and closure are two separate decisions, and both are usually made for the same reason: how the candle looks on a shelf and how it travels.

Amber glass hides the yellowing that a white or cream wax can develop in daylight, and it softens the wax colour behind it. It is why amber dominates premium scented ranges, and it is the format in our private label scented candle photography — an amber jar with a metal screw lid and a kraft label.

Lids are a travel and fragrance decision. A metal screw lid keeps the scent in before first use and survives a container load better than a push-fit. If your channel is e-commerce and the unit ships in its own outer packaging, the lid can be lighter; if the jar is the retail pack, the lid is part of the product.

We also list a 250 ml relief-pattern container with a lid, which is the option to look at when the glass itself has to carry the design rather than the label.

How to size a jar for the wax you are pouring

Sizing in the wrong order is the most common container mistake, so work through it in this sequence.

• Start with the fill weight you want to sell, because that is the number on the label and the number the customer compares.
• Then pick the diameter, which is what sets the wick. A jar that is too wide for the wick you tested will tunnel at the edge no matter how good the wax is.
• Then the height, which follows from the fill weight and the diameter — and remember that a candle is never filled to the brim.
• Then the glass colour and the lid, which are the shelf and shipping decisions rather than the burn decisions.

Why buying the jar and the wax together is cheaper

Two reasons, and both show up in the landed cost rather than the unit price.

First, one supplier means one freight plan. Glass is heavy and bulky, wax is heavy and dense, and a shipment that carries both in the same container is materially cheaper per unit than two shipments arriving separately. Second, one specification means one set of approvals: the wick is matched to the jar and the wax on the same sample, so the burn is proven before either item is ordered in volume.

That is the practical argument for buying a container, a wick and a wax from the same plant — not loyalty, just arithmetic.

What about MOQ, samples and ordering?

MOQ is quoted per project against your volume rather than as a blanket number, and glass is supplied in bulk cartons so a production schedule is priced in the unit you actually fill. Sample jars are available so you can test the fill, the wick and the lid before you commit volume. Wax ordered alongside the glass ships with the batch COA for its lot.
